I'm afraid to even go near the kitchen, much less turn on any appliances.

Not a dumb question. Steel cut oats are cut in small pieces rather than rolled as most oatmeal is or worse, further processed as in instant. Bob' Red Mill brand can be found at Krogers in the organic section. They are also called Irish Oats. Good luck. I have to watch what I eat more now. I'm exercising more and cutting out some junk. Lisa

Hey, Lisa-<br />I am looking forward to trying the Baked Oatmeal recipe, but I have a dumb question: what are steel cut oats and where in the grocery store do you find them? I am like you in that I've always had a good metabolism, but I've noticed that I've put on about 8 lbs this year...!! Arrr! So, I'm trying this eating plan called Eat Clean, which is bascially eating very healthy foods, and eating something every 2-3 hrs. I will let you know how it works out :). Thanks for all the recipes and food stuff...I'm going to look for the Eat This Not That book....sounds very helpful
